Some other and as many think wiser men hold that there are six kinds of government of which three are very bad;the three others are good in themselves,but so easily corrupted that even they come to be pernicrous.Those that are good are the three indicated above;those that are bad are three others which evolve from those three,and each of those is in such a way like the one to which it is nearest that they all easily become tyrannical;the aristocracy with ease becomes a government by a few;the popular form without difficulty changes itself into one that abuses liberty.Hence if the founder of a city he organizes it there for a short time only,because no precaution can be used to make certain that it will not slip into it's contrary on account of the likeness in the case of the virtue and the vice.
